Does anyone know if there are any cash machines in Ao Nang? My wife and I are staying in the region in a few weeks and want to avoid taking travellers cheques if possible.

There are dozens of them; you can%26#39;t walk more than 20 metres without bumping into one. One thing I have learned though......since Feb 2006, all new ATM cards in the UK are issued with a new computer chip to help cut down on fraud. Mine stopped working and I asked why, to be told that the ATMs here couldn%26#39;t read these chips so I was limited to 2 withdrawels only per week! Check with your bank first!!!
