flying from Phuket to Koh Samui

Hi everyone,

I would like to know why so many people choose to fly to Samui via Bangkok as opposed via Phuket, say? Especially as far as Ozzies are concerned, because now that Jetstar is flying to Phuket with some amazing prices. We managed to save a bundle going to Samui via Phuket (admittedly we have to overnight in Phuket). But even so it is still way cheaper than via Bangkok. Are there any other travellers out there considering this as an option. Or is there some other reason why people (especially Ozzies) that wouldn%26#39;t consider this route?? Would be very interested in your opinions??

Thanks very much.

Thanks also to Bernds who answered my last question. Some of you guys just seem to know everything!!

Regards, Liz..

flying from Phuket to Koh Samui

Hi Liz,

sure... it will indeed be interesting to see what the Jetstar flights will be like on it International routes.. a bit dry I’d suggest...

At last they found the good sense to give seat allocation on it%26#39;s domestic flights... Now they just have to become a bit more service oriented with regards to head sets and free meals/drinks....

For those of us who scored some exceptionally cheap flights during it%26#39;s launch sale.... it%26#39;s a no brainer...

However... for the time being.. they are not really all that cheap... Even Singapore airlines have cheaper flights to Bangkok than Jetstar.... albeit without frequent flyer points....

How the connection via Phuket compares to Bangkok.... well, for some a day or two in Bangkok for a bit of retail therapy is seen as a must.. but for those who just want sand and palm trees... the direct flight to Phuket must be the way to go.

flying from Phuket to Koh Samui

Hey justcruizin!

We are flying to Bangkok as we are using frequent flyers for the first part of out trip, (British Airways), Koh Samui with Bangkok Air for 7 nights, Koh tao for 3 nights then flying to Phuket for 6 nights then on to Bangkok for 5 nights and returning to Sydney with cheap Jetstar airfares. Had we not have been using our frequent flyer points we probably would have changed the itinerary and done Phuket first. Funny thing was, when I was booking the ';cheap'; Jetstar flights, for whatever reason, flights were more expensive at the time from Phuket than Bangkok to Sydney!!

Cheryl.

Bangkok Airways flight direct from Singapore to Koh Samui.

I priced a flight for Phuket to Australia and although it initialy looked cheap once everything added on it was not that good at all compared with Singapore Airlines. i think if you can get they special real cheap fares might be good.

of course many people going Phuket to Samui simply take the bus and ferry combination.
