internal flights and baggage

Does anyone know how good the internal airlines with the baggage?

Does the luggage get checked through properly and make it safely to the next destination?

How is security?

I was flying last week from bangkok to Phuket. There where no problems with baggage. they are checking the same way as the international flights. All baggage must be screened.
