my partner and I will be in phuket from dec 19-26 and would love to do a day trip out to similan islands and another down south to Coral Island/Koh Racha Yai for snorkelling (already did Phi Phi last year).... could anyone recommend a tour company or trip for this?
I read that one company operates a hydrofoil out of patong to Similans which sounds like a good option as 1 1/2 hours on bus plus 1 hour on speedboat will defiintely take a big chunk out of the day!
As for Coral Island are we best to hire a longtail boat from Rawai beach?
Would greatly appreciate any tips or advice...!

Day trip snorkelling in Similan Islands / coral island
Myself and my finace are going to Similan Island to snorkel and we have used Phuket Richard. I talked mostly to his wife Megumi and she has been so helpful. The cost is 2900 per person, plus 400 baht for a National park fee. It is an all day thing 6am-7pm. Hope this helps. Richard has been higly recommended on this site and we have book other events through them for our trip.

when will you be heading over?
We land in Bangkok Dec 30th then fly to Phuket on Jan 6th (Saturday) and our snorkel trip is on Monday. Thursday we fly back to Bangkok then on Home on Saturday.
