High Season Accomodation Prices & Availability

Greetings,

I am travelling with in a group of six friends to phuket from 26th Dec through to 2nd Jan and am worried about finding a suitable place to stay.. I have been constantly searching for %26#39;deals%26#39; online and it seems like the only available hotels and hostels alike will inevitably cost my left arm. Also, majority of the bigger resort-type accomodations have complusory gala dinner events that cost a nights stay as well.

Im always in favour of livin large whilst on holiday, but im not sure what the actual situation is on paradize phuket with half the world visiting during peak season. I have optimistic mates who think it wont be a problem getting accom upon arrival, as well as paranoid planners like myself who%26#39;d rather book in advance than risk the possiblity of sleeping under a coconut tree on NYE.

We are planning to explore krabi for the first couple of days, but will eventually end up in patong for the year end celebrations. Can someone please offer us any advice? Will looking for hotels on the north, east and south side of the islands help?

High Season Accomodation Prices %26amp; Availability

Hi,

I%26#39;m travelling in February, which is also high season, and have found that some of my accommodation choices are already unavailable. I would say the situation for the time you are travelling would be even worse! Getting a %26#39;deal%26#39; at this time is almost impossible. And I have been researching since July, and only just confirmed my bookings.

As for the NYE gala dinner, I haven%26#39;t seen one hotel/resort that DOESN%26#39;T charge. But according to one poster, the dinner at the Kata Beach Resort, for example, is absolutely spectacular and not to be missed.

I would suggest you start by going to the web site www.phuketdelight.com, where you will find a very extensive list of Phuket accommodation. You can also check prices and make bookings on this site.

Tell your optimistic mates that they can sleep on the beach, but you%26#39;ll be staying in comfort!

Cheers

Kathleen
