We are planning a trip in December and are staying at the Imperial Golden Triangle resort - we are doing a river tour, seeing some villages and riding elephants on a private tour. does anyone know - is this area safe to bring children into?
Kids and the Golden Triangle
It is a malarial risk area. But besides that, I don%26#39;t see why it wouldn%26#39;t be safe. The Anantara Golden Triangle has a very good elephant program that might be much nicer than an elephant ride. See about their program at www.helpingelephants.org or www.anantara.com
Kids and the Golden Triangle
We are staying at the Imperial Golden Triangle Resort early January. We will have our two children and also my niece.
Last year I took my then 8 y/o all around the North of Thailand. At no time did I feel unsafe. She had the most fantastic time.
The only part I felt was a bit overwhelming was the visit to one particular hilltribe village. The ladies were very pushy in wanting you to buy something off them. If you bought from one lady another 10 would appear from no where. I ended up with a 100 bangles :0) If your kids are small it may be a bit scary for them.
