Opinions please - Montien vs Marriott Pattaya swimming pool?

We were booked to spend half our week at the Marriott Pattaya and then the 2nd half at the Montien. We have an opportunity to stay the entire time at the Marriott Pattaya.

Would love any opinons on the merits of each swimming pool - the rooms aren%26#39;t as important unless the standards are egregiously different. We enjoy being out in the sun and like to be able to swim laps in the pool if at all possible. I%26#39;ve seen some reviews about the Marriott Pattaya pool, while wonderful, being fairly shaded so hard to be out in the sun a lot. Is the pool at the Montien any better for getting sun as well as swimming?

Any other things we should think about between staying at the Marriott for our entire stay versus splitting our time (aside from having to repack our bags).

Thanks for any advice or insight from those of you who have been there.

We stayed at the Marriott in May 2006 %26amp; are going back Dec 4 for 7 nights. The Pool %26amp; rooms here are sensational.I think you would be mad to stay at the Montien. The Marriott is better located, great food %26amp; resonably priced for a 4-5 star hotel.

Paulrogers,

Thanks for your response. Regarding the Marriott - the only reason I thought about maybe splitting our stay is that the pool is supposed to be fairly shaded. Did you find that to be your experience as well? Coming from the cold north, I%26#39;d like to spend as much time in the sun as possible.

Also, while the Marriott pool looks to be pretty big, is it of a size you can swim laps?

Thanks again!

There%26#39;s plenty of open sunny areas at the the Marriott. You didn%26#39;t say when you would be in Pattaya. If its during Peak Season( Xmas-New Year) you might find pool fairly busy, but it would be the same everywhere.

Enjoy your trip
