If dropped off at pier mid day- is there a simple and short ferry to Ko Tao or Samui if necessary? Trying to get to Ko Tao from Surat Thani in one afternoon

Not from Don sak where the car/passenger ferries leave from. I would doubt that even from Surat itself (they, the ';touts';) say there is no ferry even to Samui after 11..00 am unless you wait for the night ferry. Chumphon is the best town to leave from for Tao. I%26#39;d say you%26#39;d have to stay a night in Samui or Koh Phan Gan if leaving after 12.00, but things change, and therefore I understand why you ask the question. My only advice is try to get to Don Sak before miday and you%26#39;ll make it to Ko Tao same day. ';They'; are really pushing Don Sak at present from Surat airport, trains as well.
