Trains from Bangkok to Chang Mai

Hi does anyone have any info on these please? I have read that you have to book them well in advance but we are planning on getting the train the day after we arrive, can tickets be prebooked online? Grateful for any info, many thanks

Trains from Bangkok to Chang Mai

What i know for sure is that the prices are about 600 baht for an adult to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. I just bought a couple for my friends comin to visit me sooon.

i am abit confused by the number of train stations in bangkok

the station that we need to go to chiangmai, is it the Hualamphong station?

from the railway website, it just says bangkok, so was abit confused which one was it since there is quite a few train stations in bangkok

Hualamphong is the main train station and yes you need to get your train from here to Chiang Mai.
