Hi, anybody stay in Best Western at Bang tao beach? I have enquired (via R24) and they say they have a ';family'; suite which will fit the 5 of us (using a fold out bed for 3rd child) and the photos look like its got a separate bedroom with two single beds in it for the kids, but my travel agent says that he is being told that the Best Western Bang Tao don%26#39;t have any rooms that will fit 5 people. Tedkarma, are you aware of such a room? Has anyone actually stayed in one of these rooms. Thanks!

Hi - We have not stayed there but we were staying at Bang Tao beach a week ago and while there I had a look at the Best Western including their family suite for friends. It has a separate room with two beds and they said they can put another in there, or in the main room. The main room is fairly large with a large double or queen bed. There is one bathroon. The rooms looked quite nice - they are either ground floor or one level up. My only suggestion would be to request a suite away from the road, which runs along the rear. the road it self is not busy but directly on the other side there is a bar which might get a little noisy with music at night. Ask for one on the beach side - though there is no view - it is just closer to the beach.
There is a very nice restaurant attached to a separate resort literally on the beach - a local restaurant and th food was excellent and incredibly cheap for Australian prices. The Andaman Bang Tao Bay resort/restaurant. all the best.

I agree with jeff on both the resort rooms - and the restuarant.
Jeff,
I am wondering if you stayed at the Andaman Bang Tao resort as that is one I am looking at for our trip next year. The other ones I am thinking about are Bang Tao Beach Chalets and Bang Tao Lagoon Bungalows.
Any comments on these or where you stayed (if different) would be appreciated.
Thanks
Nicky
Of the choices the Andaman Bang Tao Beach Resort is probably the best. The Chalet is not beach front. Lagoon Bungalows is - but is of lower quality.
A review about the Andaman is here:

Thanks Ted,
that%26#39;s a great help

Nicky - We stayed at Club Lersuang (about 200 meters behind the beach and booked through Phuket Vacation Apartments - which was excellent - and I%26#39;ll do a review on it later this week.
We ate at the Andaman Bang Tao Beach resort restaurant twice while in Phuket and it was great food at excellent prices - the largest tiger prawns I have seen (more like crayfish!!). Staff were friendly and welcoming. Its a great spot right on the beach. I did not see inside the accommodation but I would suggest its worth a look.
Thanks Jeff for your reply,
looking forward to reading your review.

We just come home after a week stay in Andaman Bang tao beach resort. It was a lovely place and I think they maybe can help you if you contact them directly. They where lovely. We just walked by Best Western but I would say that it is a large hotel with little charm.
The restaurant at Andaman is as others alredy said perfect, great food at low prices and directly on the beach.

Hi Carina - thanks for your post!
It is really good to hear that you had a terrific time at the Andaman Cottages.
I had more or less decided to book there and now after your positive remarks will definitely try to organise a couple of cottages for our family of four.
Can you recommend any particular cottages to ask for?
We will be there for only three nights before heading on to Krabi.
Any other information would be great.
What were the breakfasts like by the way?
Many thanks once again
Nicky
