Is it necessary or advisable to book to eat dinner at the restaurant Cabbages and Condoms?
Also what is the best way to get there from the Holiday Inn Silom---taxi or Skytrain?
Cabbages and Condoms
I have never needed reservations. By Skytrain, you can get off at Nana or Asoke, but it is still a 10 minute walk from either station. I like the place alot. Enjoy.
Cabbages and Condoms
From Holiday Inn silom I would take a taxi. If you are more than one person a taxi is cheaper and definitely more comfortable.
It also saves you the walk from the Skytrain station.
Thank you both for your help and advice.
It%26#39;s a lot nicer than the unappetizing name implies. Good food, nice little garden, an inexpensive shop to buy handicrafts and souvenirs attached. You should try it at least once.
Agree - should be tried at least once, but it is only one of many great garden type Thai restaurants in this city.
Hi Bangkokgas,
Have just read your comments on Caggages and Condoms.
Can you let me have the names of other outdoor type Thai restaurants that you would recommend ?
Dentaldave,
Try ';Thong Kruan'; on Suhumvit soi 55, sub soi 13. Garden restaurant with private rooms,open air con inside, and the biggest menu I have seen in thailand. Food from all over, Issan,southern curries, central standard, e.t.c. Excellent - would take you 5 visits just to sample !It is on the very corner of the address above.
Thank you fsny and Bangkokgas for your advice on Cabbages and Condoms and also the suggestion to try ';Throng Kruan';
In fact I have now returned from my trip to Bangkok. I tried Cabbages and Condoms and liked it greatly. The food was good and the atmosphere very relaxing. I will look forward to trying ';Throng Kruan'; on my next visit which hopefully will be fairly soon as I think that Bangkok is a fantastic city and the Thais very friendly.
All the best DD!
