Recommendations for different places to visit and stay ?

I plan to visit Thailand in 2007 and i would welcome advice on out of the way places to visit and stay.

I usually travel to places outside the usual tourist area%26#39;s and i would welcome your comments.

Check out northeastern thailand'; Issan ';no tourist%26#39;s just the warm friendly thai people. you have rolling hills and mountains, lakes. and waterfalls. I am talking Udon thanni . Khon kaen. the area borders laos and the maekong river. too me it is the real thailand.
