Can anyone tell me about restaurants,eating/drinking outside the hotel Sarojin? We are wine drinkers.
Sarojin and surroundings
There are two or three beach restaurants immediately outside the Sarojin and to the left, looking out to sea. Very casual, very good, very cheap. They may have some wine but unlikely to be too good quality or cheap. More restaurants and bars in Khao Lak Town but again, as throughout Thailand, other than hotels (where you pay high for it!) wine doesn%26#39;t feature very highly on the drinks menu. One restaurant we tried last April, the Phu Khao Lak (near to the Tsunami Volunteers%26#39; Centre) did have a fair selection of various nationalities but we stuck to beer.

Thanks for the info
We stayed at the Sarojin in September and had a wonderful time. They even had a wine tasting evening with a meal one evening it was wonderful.
We found that the restaurants outside the Sarojin did not generally serve wine with the meal, it was mainly beer or spirits. But and a big but, if you bought wine from the supermarket and took it in to the restaurant with you they did not mind and were quite happy to open the bottle and serve you. I do not recall a corkage charge. This definately applies to Jais.
The Sarojin is a wonderful place. You will enjoy. But do eat outside too.
Thank you for the advice
