To wear white or not to wear white.......

That is the question!!

Hi guys,

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I have been advised not to wear any white clothing in BKK as it just gets covered in black stuff??? Is that true or am I being wound up??

Thanks

Sarah

To wear white or not to wear white.......

Hiya Sarah : ) Black stuff...?..you mean muck on the pavements...?

Have worn white linen trousers, with flip flops,on an evening, whilst shopping etc in bangkok,or walking on the way an evening meal.Wouldn%26#39;t wear them if it was raining,as the black stuff is just normal dirt on the pavements.

To wear white or not to wear white.......

Sar,

You know I am rolling on the floor laughing! Only you.... or me.... would ask that question!!! Hehehehehe!

Take some napisan!

Reety xx

I have actually been pondering the same thing myself, but wasn%26#39;t game to ask *L* ... so thanks x

I read somewhere that white is a good deterent for mosquitos - and it%26#39;s also cool, so yes, I%26#39;ll be wearing white. Thanks for the napisan tip!

Ok Guys,

Tiffin, not on pavements but in the air (God I sound like a loon now). I assume that my (ex) friend meant due to the smog, a bit like the black stuff in London but never seen it on my clothes?? Just up my nose!! Hey Tiffin, only 22 sleeps to go, can%26#39;t wait, can%26#39;t be long til you go to Lanzarote now??

Miss Reet, I knew you would want to know, stop laughing and get on with your exams!! Oh and by the way, what the hell is Napsian???

Kristabelle, no problem, I am a master at stupido questions.

Kathy, My favourite colour is white and just love it in the sun, was panicking as I got loads of white stuff (clothing type)

Finally, good to see the girls sticking together on this one, where is the male influence??

Hi Sarah

Napisan is a nappy soaker! Or that%26#39;s how it started, but now they have one for coloureds too. It removes stains, and whitens whites!!!

We should get paid for advertising!! And how boring, talking about the laundry LOL!!!

By the way, it%26#39;s stinking hot here at present - 11.30 at night, and very humid. Too hot to go to bed! Won%26#39;t need to aclimatise to Thailand. (orry to all you Poms who are probably freezing! I know what it%26#39;s like - I%26#39;m and ex-pom from way back!).

xx

Thanks Kathy,

It%26#39;s such a shame you can%26#39;t sleep due to the heat (boohoo) we are actually having a really mild winter at the moment but beng an ex pom I am sure you will appreciate that even if it was the height of summer here, we would still have to acclimatize to the heat in Thailand.

Woooooo Hoooooooo!!! Balimoon,29 sleeps to go for us : )

Definately think someone%26#39;s winding you up,but some smarty pants will probably post, that the air is so thick with ';black stuff';,that you%26#39;ll look like a dalmation.

If you do get any mucky stuff on your nice white linen, there are plenty of local laundries, that will wash for around 30/35 baht per kilo.

Have a wonderful trip, and don%26#39;t forget to do a trip report to tell us how you got on.

Kathy,

It is stinking hot in Adelaide too.. I was just saying that yesterday to someone ... that it was good practice for Thailand! It is normally a dry heat here in Ade but it has been really %26#39;tropical%26#39; the past few days! Love it!

Oh BTW its now only 10 sleeps Sar!!!! Hehehehehe!

Reet xxx

Thanks Tiffin,

Will promise to do a trip report when I get back. Have a fab Xmas and will no doubt catch up when we both get back.

Safe trip

Sarah
