Hi everyone, I am making my second trip to BKK in 2 years and will be staying at the Diamond City Hotel.
Purchased the tickets and hotel at the Natas Fair... the agent was telling me that this is a relatively new hotel just behinf Asia Hotel.. so i guess the location must be pretty good
Has anyone stayed there before???... Would appreciate some comments if any.
I will be ariving only at 9 pm (BKK time) on 26 Oct so i guess i may most prob just hit the night mkts (PatPong etc)... Any suggestions for the other days. I will of course shop at the famous MBK, Siam Ctr, WTC and also CTC mkt on either Sat/Sun.
My BF is going along and he is not really a shopping guy... any ideas what we can do??
Thanks in advance!

I don%26#39;t know that particular hotel but I have stayed at the Asia in the past and it is quite a good location. There is a skytrain stop right at the Asia so that will quickly get you around. If you do nothing else besides your shopping, you must go to Wat Pra Keow / Grand Palace and spend some time on the river. Have fun!

Never heard of this hotel before.
You are quite a way from Patpong etc.
Why not check out the hotel website. This should tell you if it is a dump or not and hopefully it will have a location map.
';behind Asia Hotel'; is a wide description. There is a large area behind the Asia hotel.
Hi InitialAT,
My travel agent also recommended me Diamond City Hotel, is this hotel good? Is the BTS station very far from the hotel? Will the taxi driver know where is the hotel? What about the room condition?
Hope to hear from you real soon.
Thanks
This is the map that I found on the asiatravel web site.
Yes, it is at the back of Asia hotel.

my advice - Do not take the bf shopping with you- because you are mentioning some very serious shopping places and you need hours and hours to see everything and there is nothing worse than a nagging bf (unless it%26#39;s a nagging husband hahaha)
seriously though, he will see stuff he wants for himself- it would be impossible to go to MBK for example, and not be caught up in the excitement. too much fun!!! :-))
