The RACHA Resort...Anyone has been?

Hello fellow Travellers,

Has anyone been to the Racha on Racha Yoi Island? I want to know if theres any recommended restauarnts and ';must do'; whilst on the island...

Is the Deluxe room comfy and the food at the hotel... is it good? cos i have read that it wasn%26#39;t very good.

Hi, I%26#39;m a travel agent and am heading to Thailand on the weekend. We are spending 5 nights at the Racha during our stay- if you are not travelling within the next two weeks im happy to give you a report as soon as I return.

I do know that the deluxe room looks alot nicer than the superior- havent really heard much about the food yet. If you search the Racha in these posts there are a few outdated ones with a little info.

Ill definitely let you know...

The hotel is totally stunning. All rooms are great but try and get one with a sea view.

Make sure you go to Raya Family and Raya beach restaurants.

I think Racha is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

You will have a great time

will definitely check out the Raya family and Raya beach restaurants. a gr8 pity that the deluxe rooms with pool are all fully booked. were you satisfied with the room you stayed in? one thing i would like to know more though is - how much privacy does the deluxe rooms offer?

The pool villa right by the beach looks so good...but its far too pricey....would love to stay in one soon though :p

Sorry I have been disconnected for a couple of weeks, you have probably sorted your room by now.

We had a Pool Villa - just stunning. They only have about 3 deluxe with pools so I am sure they are always booked well in advance.

Some rooms have more privacy than others. Try to get one about half way up the hill - better than right on the beach for privacy.

I will try to get a room thats up the hill, not sure if it works if i write in personally to Racha. I initally booked for the Deluxe with pool but its fully booked unfortunately... very disappointed but anyhow, will be flying in this friday and cant wait... hopefully the weather will hold up for us :p

Would you by any chance know the room numbers for the deluxe villas that offers more privacy....cheers for all the help!!

Nearly missed your date, im hoping you havent departed yet!!

Racha was the most amazing resort ive stayed at. I went there not knowing what to expect so maybe try that too because it made it all the more beautiful. The rooms are amazing, we only stayed in a superior room (the diff between this and deluxe is that a superior room is a little smaller and has another villa side by side) and it was great, so the deluxe will be beautiful.

They just had great touches- When you arrive they play beautiful music and let you pick your shampoo scent and just lovely touches like that- and they turn down your bed every night and leave nice notes.

Theres not alot on the island to do but relax which was awesome! the main pool area overlooks the most beautiful bay and its nice and quiet.

The restaurants at the racha resort are nice but more expensive than the other resorts (there are a few smaller resorts on the island on the other side and next to the racha). We mostly ate at the Earth Cafe (i think thats what it was called it was downstairs on the right side of the main building where you have breakfast) because it was a little cheaper and nicer. The sunset restaurant is lovely and has nice views- you have to reserve tables in the day in order to get the best views so make sure you do this. I had heard bad reviews about the food but i didnt mind it (the seafood at the seafood bbq was dissapointing but other than this great)

The staff are friendly and we only had a few hiccups with service (sometimes at the restaurants one person takes your order and someone else brings it so there can be a little bit of a breakdown in communication at times but this only happened once to us) Most of the staff have no previous hospitality experience but i found them great!!

We did a snorkel tour which was great- they also offer day trips out to Phi Phi Island.

Overall, amazing. A very very beautiful quiet, romantic picturesque resort.

Hey hey...Racha was great! Weather was fine wtih clear blue sky. boat ride there, was smooth and the floating platform was pretty stable due to the fine weather.

Love the ATV around the island and the little restaurant on the right side offers cheaper alternatives to the ones offered in the restaurants. It really fits into what we wanted rfriom this holiday... somewhere thats far from the crowd and no hassle and bussle of the city life...relaxation was not a a problem at all. a 4/5 days trip is just nice.

out of the 5 days there, it drizzled slightly on just 1 day. service is good and staff are ever friendly.... all in all, i would recommend it anyone :p
