I guess I didn%26#39;t see the post you are referring to regarding the flights to Mae Hong Son. That said, it%26#39;s not ';rude'; that they cancel flights occassionally due to weather. Sometimes it gets really fogging in MHS and flights need to be cancelled due to visibility in the interest of safety. That said, the weather at this time of the year is nearly perfect and there are few flight cancellations due to weather.

The first bus to MHS from Chiang Mai (om the route though Mae Malai, Pai, Soppong, MHS) leaves at 7 am, and it takes about 8 hours (whereas flight time is about 25 minutes). There are usually four buses per day, and it is hard to say which ones are a/c, but it is cool enough up in the mountains that you really don%26#39;t need it. Fare is about 100 baht. There are also four minibuses per day which cost a bit more, but are faster, all a/c, and perhaps a bit more comfortable. The first minibus leaves at 8 am and the fare is 200 baht. All leave from the Arcade bus station in Chiang Mai.
