If you go to the Phang Nga Forum you will find plenty of threads and posts about Khao Lak and Thomson flights/holidays.
Also visit www.khaolaklovers.com for comprehensive information and photos on Khao Lak and the forum there for more questions and answers. This site and forum was developed by our much respected Local Expert for Phuket and Khao Lak, Tedkarma.
There is also an excellent German site and forum at www.mykhaolak.de with great photos of the area, resorts, restaurants, bars, tours etc..
Thomson flights are direct to Phuket with a fuel stop at Abu Dhabi.

Sorry, I meant to say if you go through the phang Nga Forum as you already posted to it. :)
Hi stevegr
As arandora has said there is some great information about Khao Lak on the Websites mentioned, the only thing i can add is that i have just returned from my 1st visit and i cant wait to go back.
Thomsons have just started package holidays again to Thailand after pulling out several years ago. The flight is a direct flight to Phuket, with a fuel stop and flight crew change in Al Ain (UAE). The 1st part is about 8hrs long and the 2nd about 6hrs, with a scheduled stop of 1hr in between.
The flight is like any other long haul flight, you either want to be at your destination, or back home. We booked the premium seats, which is probably like most other Airlines economy seats, but i`m not complaining cos you get what you pay for. We flew Malaysian airlines in Feb to Kuala Lumpur and to be honest there was not much difference.
The rep in Khao Lak for Thomsons is a really nice guy called John, who can be contacted anytime, and can be regularly seen in Khao Lak town of an evening, when he`s not working of course.
I had no problems with Thomsons, i think they are trying really hard to get people to come back to this amazing part of Thailand.
