I%26#39;ve reserved the Junior Suite, but I wanted to know if its worth it to book the deluxe w/ the ocean view (right now the difference is an extra $35 US per night)...
It%26#39;ll be a honeymoon vacation from Dec 19 - Dec 26..
What Kind of Room to Get at Le Meridian?
Hi Ankoor - We have just returned from a week @ Le Meridien and absolutely loved the hotel! We stayed in an ocean view deluxe and it was great; nice balcony facing the sunset, open bathroom, and a sizeable room. I%26#39;m not sure how much more space you have in a junior suite, but ours was perfect for the 2 of us. Also, there%26#39;s a large fitness center with helpful staff and a great happy hour every night at the beach bar from 5:30 to 7:30! Let me know if you have any other questions!
What Kind of Room to Get at Le Meridian?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your note. I just realized that there%26#39;s 2 Le Meridians. Which one did you stay at? The yatch club or the Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort? My reservations are for the Le Meridien..
HI Ankoor..Stayed at both the d/luxe seaview and the Junior Suite in May this year. The junior Suite was a lot larger with polished floor boards and DVD player.Being your honeymoon without a doubt upgrade. We had some serious condensation problems with a deluxe/ocean view and had to be upgraded after a room resembled a wet sauna.Terrible.I have also stayed at the Yatch Club address and these rooms were fantastic.Le meredian Patong is a great resort but preffered the yatch club as It felt more intimate although many would disagree. My wife who works in the travel industry said she would not recommend the Patong resort based on our experiences with the room as her clients would demand a upgrade. But besides the room it was a great hotel.
I didn%26#39;t see a Le Meridien at Patong beach, but the one we%26#39;ve reserved the Junior Suite is the Le M茅ridien Phuket Beach Resort (address is 29 Soi Karon Nui, Tambon Karon 路 Amphur Muang).
The hotel website says that its 3 miles away from Patong beach, so I%26#39;m assuming that the hotel is not in Patong, but rather in Karon?
From your message, it seems like the Junior suite is definately the way to go instead of the deluxe w/ the ocean view.
Pls let me know if i%26#39;m misunderstanding the hotels.
Thanks again!! :)
Your Le Meridien is between Karon and Patong on its own beach. Confusingly there%26#39;s another Le Meridien in Khao Lak an hour or so North of Phuket but which is also sometimes misleadingly referred to as Le Meridien Phuket.
Amazinginly, i had no clue about that - thanks a lot for the clarification!!
Any idea which Le Meridien is better? Right now, i%26#39;m at the Le Meridien resort, which i think is in between...?
It%26#39;ll be for a honeymoon, so i%26#39;d prefer it be not too close to Patong beach, but still close enough so we have stuff to do.
Thanks!!
I think the one you are talking about and which others (before I confused you more!) have referred to is the Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort. It is set on it%26#39;s own with it%26#39;s own beach about 2-3 miles from Patong and 1-2 miles to Karon Beach. So it is near enough to Patong without it being on your doorstep and to Karon Beach, which in my opinion is much nicer. I%26#39;ve only stayed at Le Meridien Khao Lak and envied those staying at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort (because it looked a beautiful hotel) when we stayed on Karon Beach.
What do the TripAdvisor Hotel reviews say between the two on Phuket?
Hi Guys ..I was referring to the Le Meridian patong.Dont get me wrong, this is a lovely hotel with its own private beach and amazing pools.I would strongly suggest the upgrade to Junior suite.Initially we were told you had to leave the airconditioning running 24/7 to help with the humidity in the room.Have stayed at a number of exclusive resorts here in AU and abroad, never had this experience before.Their is also the Le meridian yatch club in Nai harn.A lt smaller but I found more upmarket and personal. The rooms were much bigger with a having massive balconys and DVD and CD player as a standard. But the swimming area is tiny.We had no problem with humidity in the Junior Suite.
Le Meridien Patong IS Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort - as the Thais would say, ';Same, same!'; :))
I have to respond the the condensation problem mentioned by one poster. I have stayed in just about every room type at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort over the past few years and have never had issues with condensation. Part of the issue may be time of year, or leaving balcony door open during high humidity days, of course you will get condensation! Phuket is humid! especially May to October!
In my opinion this resort is the best of both worlds, great property, pools, staff, very secluded beach, many restaurant and activity choices, yet only a 5 minute Tuk-Tuk ride to either Karon or Patong. The LM Yacht Club is smaller possibly more intimate, however only 2 dining choices, very limited choices nearby, and a 30 minute ride to Patong.
