Taylor near Landmark

Forgot to mention if anybody could reccomend a Taylor near tha Landmark hotel.we are only getting 1 1/2 days there and would like to sort a suit out for a weeding, hoping that we could either pick up on our return ,or post it to us. This is our first visit and would be really gratefull for your advise.OR should we leave it till we get to Krabi ,where we will be for 8days, looking at the forums ,seems the best taylors are in Bangkok

The best taylors are where you get what you want done to how you wanted it.

If you want a suit I would suggest that 1 1/2 days is not enough and most certainly not have it posted to you or collect it on the last day as you go to the airport. You are leaving yourself open to problems.

Search the forum and you will find horror stories.

Some places offer ';ready in 24 hours'; the quality of most of those places does seem questionable sometimes.

I would suggest you would need 3 - 4 days minimum.

Most taylors do not have their own cutter sweat shop, so it is difficult to have small imperfections corrected..

I found one taylor on my last trip that cut and stitched his own and he made a very good job of my 3 piece suit which I%26#39;m happy with, but the trousers he madefitted and looked good but are not what I wanted, too tight and pockets too small even after I went through everything with him. si I took my suit and left the trousers.

You will get many suggestions and recommendations here but in the end you must make your mind up and take your chances and be very tough with your taylor after all you are paying.

Good luck.

PS no idea of the quatity or costs but there is a taylor in the basement of the landmark close to the Huntsman. Wherever you use they should be close to your hotel so you do not spend hours travelling to and from them.

I agree with Breconion

If you want a suit in 24 hrs then i am will not be confident of the workmanship

There are a few tailors near Landmark

There is rajawongse and there is Classique

You can go to both of them and see what they have to say

For a proper fit, you will need a few trials so 24hrs isn%26#39;t enough

Maybe you may want to stay a bit more here, get the fitting of the suit done then go to krabi

As for Krabi tailors, well, i don%26#39;t know of any so i am of no help there

If you are desperate for a tailor made suit, then you have one other alternative with the tailors in Bangkok. As much as I second the above 2 recommendation about not getting it done in 24 hours since you dont have enough time for fittings, but there is a way. If you drop into the tailors as soon as you arrive early in the morning, get one fitting done in the evening, and a second early next morning, your suits will be ready in the late afternoon of the day of your second fitting. That%26#39;s just an opinion since I have seen people do that and many have gotten away with it if they went to a recommended tailors. Btw, another good tailor around the Landmark is Crown Tailors in sukhumvit soi 8. They usually dont do 24 hour work either, but if you tell them your situation, they will find a way to get in your fittings, and so will any other recommended shop. Please take this advice - don%26#39;t go into any random shop where they say its ok to get only 1 fitting done or no fitting at all and your suits will turn out alright. That is all a bunch of bull.

Or just contact the tailor before you come and tell them your situation and have them meet you at your hotel and take your measurements and bring sample swatches along so that you can choose your material too

Thanks for advice.Think we had better leave it tillwe get to Krabi ,Just enjoy the sights in Bangkok
