Where to donate toys and clothes

My children and l are taking over a heap of toys and clothes to donate. Does any one know where to take them

Where to donate toys and clothes

Have a look at this link

phuket-guide.com/鈥?/a>

It gives a contact Email address where I am sure they will give you more information on where to take your ';goodies.';

Also if you contact Save the Children at http://www.savethechildren.org.au/ I%26#39;m sure they will point you in the right direction.

If you have any problems just post back. I have a contact of a relief organisation for children in Khao Lak who I am sure would be able to help. You can see his website at http://www.mabassi.com/

Well done and Good Luck! :)

That%26#39;s a great idea Murf,

let us know how you get on with your donations please as I would like to do the same when we travel next March.

You can take them to the Wat (Temple) north end of Patong near Club Andaman and the monks will distribute....or the school on the beachfront at Kalim which has been rebuilt after being destroyed by the tsunami.

You can read my After The Tsunami reports I did for BBC and see my picture galleries here...

There are 21 parts here...

and here....

I might suggest that you take your items to Dr. Sunya of the Tsunami Childrens Foundation. He is a Thai-American working with post traumatic stress disorders in children, adults and families. He%26#39;s been here for nearly two years (came following the tsunami) and can be located via his website at www.tsunamicf.org. His office is located on Bang Niang Beach Road (on the way to Mukdara Resort located just 1.9km north of downtown Khao Lak) and next to the Tsunami Craft Center. Next door you will find Geckos Sports Bar %26amp; Grill where he has become the owner so he can continue his work here.

He works with both the Thais and the Burmese children and can also direct you to ongoing projects should you become interested in getting hands-on.

Thanks for bringing these items for the kids. They will be most gracious.

John

Oooops. Sorry to mention that this location is in Khao Lak. That will be a drive north of Phuket about 80km. I suggest this area because it is an area that is less frequented by outsiders and the kids here need the donations.
