Well feeling sore and sorry on day 2 we decided to stay around the hotel for the day. We stay at the Indra Regent Hotel so crutches in hand we decided to walk the shops underneath the hotel. The shopping here is always amazing. It is mostly wholesale but if you buy three items they will sell to you at a wholesale price. Feeling slightly weary we had an early night and went to bed. Day 3 was Sunday and by this time the crutches were a pain in the a.... so I tossed them aside and hobbled down the Sunday Street market. Nice place to wander if you have 2 good legs! Sunday night we went to the opening of a friends %26#39;disco%26#39; . It is called %26#39;Buddy International Bar%26#39; half way between the Indra regent and Century Park Hotels. Above the %26#39;Mountain Bike%26#39; pub near the railway line. Nice new small ,place with pool tables and good atmosphere. Of course no dancing for me. And it is opened till 6am..Day 4 we went to Pahurat Markets. Now I don%26#39;t know whether everyone had had a late night with the Loy Krathong Festival the night before but no one was interested in selling us much. Left there feeling rather disappointed. That night we went to the %26#39;Saxaphone%26#39; Club around the corner of the hotel. What a great place this is. Live music till one o%26#39;clock. Now after 1 am not much is opened in Thailand except places that pay the police big money so my Thai friend took me to a nice little place in a back alley. Turned out to be a gay bar. Very interesting! Finally got back to the hotel at 3 am. Day 5 . took a Thai friend back to the Pahurat Markets for another try. This time much different. Bought cotton fabrics for 30 baht a metre. Also found a bead shop in Sampeng Lane. Went to MBK and had pizza for lunch for a change from chicken and rice! We then went to Banglampoo markets. Finally I can report that you can find bigger clothes here. I bought 3 pairs of jean shorts for 1000 baht. I know it was probably dear but he wouldn%26#39;t budge and I was just thrilled to buy clothes. Got them home and they were too big!!!
Day 6 went back to change the shorts to a smaller size with no problems. Went to the post office to post excess shopping home. Airmail 7 kilos 4000 baht . SAL 12 kilos 2400 baht. Day 7 next...

Kristabelle, also under the Indra Regent Hotel I could buy tops that were bigger. Look for ones with elastic at the back. They stretch and fit up to about a size 14.
G%26#39;Day Beezely, Do you know that shop under the indra that sells the evening bags? We walked over the footbridge %26amp; it is just inside the doors. We bought 2 evening bags for the girls for 1000baht each %26amp; I%26#39;ve periced them in Sydney for $80 each. I was very happy. CJ
CJ, did they also sell a lot of clothes in the shop as well? As you come over the footbridge it would have been on the right hand side. Or did you walk down the stairs and come in that way? There is a lady there that sells all beaded things. Maybe that would be the place.. I love all the shops there, we spent hours wandering around. The necklaces and earrings and stuff are just amazing.
Hi Beezely, Yes thats it as we walked in the door on the right hand side . Cluttered with clothing as well. We loved the shopping there also we think we might stay at the Indra next time because we%26#39;ll have Roxanne with us %26amp; she can go off %26amp; shop whenever she likes. CJ
Roxanne will sure love it. We took our 17y/o niece last year and we never saw her for days. :) Next xmas hey, maybe there also. We will keep in touch.
