would any one agree this is a fair rate?
marks and spencers rate 66.31 baht to 1gbp is this good?
Hello Babybella
We have just returned on Saturday and we used the money exchange booths quite a few times at airport, shopping malls etc and we always had a rate of 68+.(68.80 being the highest)
I would advise you to take Sterling notes and they exchange them
with no trouble at all.
Hope you have as good a trip as we did.
A must do by the way , is the Rehab centre and Friday night bbq with Richard. Brilliant night at the Sunshine Bar.

so would you agree that taking some baht for the 1st couple of days then chaging english pounds once we get there?
Yes babybella you could take a small amount , but honestly as soon as you get through customs etc there are so many exchange booths , but to give you peace of mind , we did take a small amount with us from the U.K.
Just as a thought if you are tempted to take duty free liquor from the U.K. ,its not worth it. We found that gin, vodka, whisky etc were all much cheaper in the shops over there .
What about sterling travellers cheques? What sort of rate do you get when you are cashing them in. R they worth taking or best to use atm
i always take some t/cheques with me as back-up, get them from the post office, there in us dollars--no fees
change them in the exchange booths, but there is a small fee charged per cheque , so try to get big denominations instead of lots of small demominations
the exchange rate is as good as cash is i think
you could take enough to pay the hotel bill (don,t change them in the hotel though)
when u go to change them take your p/p and room key
you should get about 70bht to the pound at the moment in thailand when i was last there it was about 73, the bht has strenghtend a bit
dont change any money in the uk you dont need to change a small amount at the airport but check what rate their offering first
