visa help please
to make it easy for yourself - why not get a 60 day tourist visa from the Royal Thai Consulate in Hull. Look up their website for address and details. Hull consulate is easy to deal with. Can be done by post. Otherwise you can get 30 days on arrival in Thailand but you will need to go to immigration for the 7 day extension. This will cost you 1900 bht and a bit of time.
visa help please
Nuff said by previous poster - however, depends where you are going in Thailand, as, for example, if you were going to Samui towards the end of your trip, you could do the extension there, and save on the cost of time/cash getting a visa in the U.K. , for what is a relatively short trip%26gt; After all, your first 30 days are free on arrival -the bonus by the way now, is that 60 day tourist visas are now 90 days! (i.e. no need to pay the 1900 baht for the extension).
Hayden,
Last time our travel agent organised our visas for us, best way to go.
Not heard of U.K. travel agents doing visa services though I%26#39;m gonna check that one out.
yes travel agents do visa service but they charge you for it,so its easier doing it youself by post. work out cheaper ,easy really
Agree - however, U.K. agents AND the consulates in B%26#39;Ham, Hull, for example issue willy-nilly. Dangerous actually -as the rules have changes visa-wise and they claim to know nothing! I should add these consualtes are run by a Brit or two, who say ';we have no knowledge of any new rules'; Probably true, but remember it%26#39;s the immigration here who have the final say whether to accept the visa or not. This info is not given willy-nilly by the way - I am in daily contact with all things ';visa'; in Thailand, and know the score. Well, as far as anyone knows it here really.
Comment to Bangkokgas msg about Hull consulate.
Hull has actually posted the new visa rules on their website. The only Thai consulate overseas which has done this.
The rules actually match the immigration dept.%26#39;s rules.
Bangkokgas - don%26#39;t be a know it all. Nobody can know everything. Or are you one of these people offering visa services for a lot of money???
Hi, sorry to butt in, but on the subject of visas do you know.....
If you enter with the 60/90 day visa can you then leave an re-enter on a 30 day visa on arrival 3 times? Also on the 60/90 day if you leave thailand is the visa void or can you enter and exit at will within the validity period?
Jemima - I would suggest YOU are the ';know it all%26#39;. Hull may well have posted on the internet, but i stand by what I have said -and, NO, I am not someone involved in the visa scam in Thailand!!. You believe what you read -I%26#39;ll believe what i hear thanks. And please refrain from such obviously ill-thought through replies!!
Oh Jemima - by the way, want a bet that the u-turn on ALL new visa changes will come about in January? No - thought not. If I am a ';know-it all';';, well, the fact that my wifes uncle is the Japanese Ambassador to Thailand, and therefore privvy to the most accurate info, might just persuade you. But, somehow, i think not.
