Things to do in Koh Chang

Hi,

I am going to Koh Chang within two weeks. Going to stay in Changburi Resort in White Sand Beach, does anyone have any experiences of that hotel?

We are a family of three, our son is 4,5 yrs old... Any suggestions what we would want to do in Koh Chang? What are the best waterfalls to visit and if we want to go snorkelling, where are the best places for that?

We were palnning on taking the bus from Bangkok, is it true that there are some busses from Ekamai terminal which drive directly to the piers in Trat, so we wouldn%26#39;t have to take a taxi from Trat bus terminal to the piers?

Things to do in Koh Chang

From Ekkamai there are direct buses to the ferry pier at 7.45am %26amp; 9.45am.

If you miss these and get abus to Trat, maqke sure you get a first class bus, which will go on adirect route. Some buses are second class, - they have aircon - but stop at every bus stop on the way and take a couple of hours longer to get to Trat.

Changburi is new, has a good pool in the garden but it%26#39;s a 10-15 minute walk to a sandy part of the beach. Also at night if you%26#39;re outside you%26#39;ll get noise from beer bars 100 metres away. There%26#39;s a 7-eleven next to the hotel so no need to use the minibar in your room at all.

Klong Plu waterfakll is the easiest to get to and it%26#39;s quite a nice walk upto the falls - not too far 400-500 metres and there%26#39;s a pool where you can swim, the shallower pasrts are safe for kids.

Take a snorkelling day triip to the islands around Koh Rang. Coast 550 - 1000 baht depending on which boat tour you go with. You can book tickets at any of the numerous tour agencies on Whitesands or at the hotel.

If the kids havent hand fed an elephant yet then they%26#39;d like that. Head up to %26#39;Baan Kwan Chang%26#39; elephant camp a few kilomtres north of Whitesands for an elephant trek. They%26#39;ll pick you up from your hotel, again get tickets from just about any tour agency. ( There are 3 elephant camps on KC - this one is the best in my opinion.)
