beachcomber hotel

We are due to go to the Beachcomber for Xmas and would like to here from anyone who has stayed here recently? All feedback would be appreciated.

beachcomber hotel

Hi

My husband and I were at the Beachcomber August 05 for 2 weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, for us it was near to perfection.

The hotel although 3* it is a bit basic and could do with a revamp but the staff and the ambiance of the place is second to none.

The rooms are very clean though the in room kettle is hopeless. (Take your own if you like a brew).

For massages use the beachcomber girls on the beach they are fantastic.

The position of the beachcomber is its greatest asset. The beach is at its widest part and the sea is clean and we swam in it daily with no adverse reactions.

The hotel pool is a little disappointing rather small and very shaded. We only used it when coming off the beach for a cool refreshing swim.

The beachcomber beach boys are again superb and cannot do enough for you they will bring you drinks etc if required. There are several beach vendors selling fruit etc if you require snacks and they are not oppressive.

Although the town is busy but very enjoyable with lots of very good restaurants. (try the Mexican Italian and Captain Kirks) once back into the hotel grounds you are in a different world.

They do have some beach bungalows not many but we did not stay in them. If staying in the main hotel accommodation make sure you have a room on the top level as the lower floors can be a bit dark. There is no lift but yet again all you do is have to climb stairs the porter will deal with your entire luggage.

Breakfast is very good with lots of choice and again the staff lovely. We only had one meal in the evening, at the hotel but it very pleasant dinning on the patio overlooking the sea fantastic and it was very tasty.

I am sure you will have a lovely holiday if you choose the beachcomber but do remember it is not 5* luxury.

I would certainly stay there again because you are made to feel you are in 5* heaven.

Good luck

Shelleycat Thanks very much for your reply. We have requested a top floor room. As long as it is clean has a bed and a hot water shower i am sure we will have a great time. Loooking forward to it immensely.

Hiya,

If you have never been to Samui before, I would strongly recommend that you have a evening meal at Poppies, book a table on the beach front or turn up early ish to get one.

The food is not as cheap as some of the other places but it 110%, very romantic.

If yoo are looking for a cheaper night with good food try the Chaewang Noi restaurants on the beach, there is a strip of three, reckon they are owned by the same guy but they are very good and have a great view of the busy chaewang road.

Another great is the restaurant next to Baskin Robbins on Chaewang road, very nice but can be very busy.

Get the isuzi van taxi%26#39;s to get up and down chaewang if the street sellers get too much, these are way cheaper than taxis. Remember you can always barter if you think its to high.

Been many times so if you want to know anything in particular, drop us a line.

p.s hope you have a great time, me and boyfriend are out there on the 28th so lets hope the weather is good :)

Thanks Elaine.
