Thailand in March/April

Myself and 2 friends are looking to travel to Bangkok on the 30th of March. As its the first visit for all of us we have some ideas of where we would like to go in the 2 weeks but just wanted some suggestions really. We definately want to go to the full moon party on the 4th of April (do we stay in Koh Samui or travel over?) and want to travel to Phuket and go to the %26#39;beach island%26#39; and stay in bangkok at the end of the stay for a couple of days to do shopping. Another thing is what is the best way to travel to these places and anyone know any good hotels (quite cheap). Would be grateful to anyone who can help. We all really want to make the most of the 2 weeks we have. We have also heard that the phi phi islands are really nice.

thanks

For a 2 week trip I suggest flying from destination to destination. You might run into Song Kran at the end of your trip. If it was my trip, I would try to leave a few days earlier and be done with my trip by 12APR. Others like Song Kran, I have seen it and have no real desire to be caught up in it again. Between 13 and 15APR most Thais will travel to see family, many or most shops will be closed, there will be a 3 day long water fight all over the country. Some people go to alot of trouble to be there for Song Kran, but I am not one of them.
