We stayed at that hotel couple a years ago and that was fantasic.

In the area around the hotel is not much but it is very easy to use their boat the the other side of the river. You go to a pier wich is close to a skytrainstation and then you get around Bangkok very easy.

We are not going to stay there this time when we get there in January, because of the price of the hotel. It is too expensive to stay there with two children!

But I麓m shore you will get a nice time there.

There is a a small complex outside the hotel at the entrance where there is a boots, and some resturants etc, but like the previous post says they have two shuttle free boats to and from the other side of the river it takes about 10 mins, and you can get the skytrain to most places, we loved this Hotel stayed here in Septe,ber for four nights and will definately return here, it was our 8th time in Bangkok and found this hotel one of the best, it%26#39;s like an oasis in a hectic city, and the pool is just lovely and open till 10.00pm at night and all lit up and such a lovely hotel.

Did you happen to use any city tours offered by the hotel such as the cruise at the river?

we stayed there in september- don%26#39;t bother paying for the %26#39;sunset cruise%26#39; not worth paying for it- the hotel is brilliant though

With our reservation - 4 nights from 8th April 2007 - we get a free BBQ dinner for two (food only) at the Riverside Terrace. Anyone know what this is like?

We also get a credit of 1500 thb towards food and drink at the hotel outlets. How far will that go on Marriott prices?

Lucky you ! Food at the BBQ is good and varied plus you get Thai entertainment on the terrace as well, a mixture of Thai music and dance. Enjoy - it really is a lovely hotel.

we had the free bbq dinner also and thoroughly enjoyed it- the show was great and there is a huge range of foods from all around the world- a lovely experience (especially good as it%26#39;s free lol)

p.s. the 1500bht food credit won%26#39;t go all that far, but we ate at all the restaurants anyway and they were all excellent- great cappuccino in the little cafe too!
