ill be staying in bangkok on the first 2 nights of my trip afterwhich will move to pattaya... am thinking if u guys can provide suggestions on getting from bk to pattaya... bus? minivan? taxi? train?

Some htels that have affiliate in Pattaya will also transport you FREE.
Cars - many available 1200 Baht seems to be the standard rate.

Minivan would be the best bet for you as there are 4 of you and luggage
Your hotel will be able to book it for you.
You may want to be a little more adventerous and take a public bus
about 2 1/2 hours and around 100-150 (cant remember) BahtBut then you will have to get to the bus station in Bangkok and then to your hotel in Pattaya
