where to stay?
Hello,
Flight times from Bangkok to Samui are an hour, i would just get a flight rather than anything else, its cheap enough and saves a lot of time.
With regards to staying in a hotel on Chaweng, last year I stayed at the Chaba Samui, which was a brilliant location. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast, lovely pool and right on the beach. there are 2 parts to the Hotel the Lake view side or the beach side. I stayed on the beach side which was lovely and away from the main road. Its a 3 1/2* hotel and great value for money. Read my review for this hotel, it was great! Definately recommend it.
Good luck in looking for somewhere. you will love chaweng.
where to stay?
Check out sites like morethailand.com, asiarooms.com and sawadee.com who all have very competitive rates for Koh Samui.
Your flight to Koh Samui can be booked through various companies not sure which exactly fly this route but there is airasia.com, bangkokairways.com, fly12go.com and nokair.com which as the budget options.
Hi
Just come back from Samui on Thursday and my only advice for you is to avoid the Nova Samui Hotel, very disappointing attitude from some staff, bad cleaning and housekeeping in common areas (swimming pool and corridors), acceptable room cleaning.
Local dogs everywhere!!! including restaurant
I must say local dogs come with Ko Samui we also had them at Chaweng Regent but we accepted it as part of the environment.
If Chaweng and budget no problem, The Amari perhaps. Rennaisance at Lamai beach is great too. Lamai Wanta is a great place on Lamai and reasonably priced. So many places to stay at Chaweng these days!
Hi there,
Myself and my fiance stayed in Samui paradise last year just on Chaweng but at the quiet end of the beach. The service was excellent and even though they were redecorating we still enjoyed our stay.
As soon as we arrived we were given a discount as the owner thought the work would have been finished before we arrived which was a very nice touch. The food was ok but the main strip is just a 10 min walk away and there are plenty of places to eat there. They have I think 2 beachside bungalows but the others are literally 30 second walk so still nice to stay in.
hope this helps.
Moe
