cosmetic surgery

every one mentions bumrungrad hospital but no one seems aware of similiar hospitals with a more extensive list and cheaper prices .does any one out there know about these three-----Vejthani. Yanhee. and Yoskarn clinic? their web sites seem very good.

Nearly all hospitals do plastic surgery. You should not just consider the price but also if it is suitable for you i.e. I guess that you don%26#39;t speak Thai. A nice website guarantees nothing. The hospitals you mentioned are not generally used by expats or foreigners and these are therefore not known.

Other than Bumrumgrad check Samitiveij, BNHhospital, Bangkok Hospital. All 3 are cheaper than Bumrungrad and equally good and should suit you better with regard to communication. Most doctors have trained overseas and they are used to beautify western faces.

theres no gurantee that the medical staff are qualifyed in thailand -it,s a 3rd world country with endemic corruption, some doctors/ etc are bogus

they can, and do buy certificates ----, dentists are ok ,but anything surgical , well i wouldn,t chance it

good luck anyway saddler--

Dear Andy,

Your message is an insult to my country, Thailand, and our people. I work for the pharmaceutical company GSK (GlaxoSmithKline). You might be familiar with that company as it is a UK company. I have worked with many Thai doctors who are specialists in many fields including surgery. Most of the Thai medical specialists are trained in the US and UK and their certification is from those countries, including the UK! I agree with Jemina that you can find a well-trained cosmetic surgeon in Bumrungrad, Samitiveij, BNHhospital and Bangkok Hospital.

I have just returned from Bangkok yesterday and had lasik eye surgery at Bumrungrad. I can%26#39;t speak highly enough about them, having had surgery here in Australia this year, nothing compares to the excellent care provided by the Thai people at that hospital. Its staffed by wonderful qualified practitioners, they run on time, as opposed to here, where waiting 4 hours for your appointment is just normal and no one apologises ever for keeping you waiting. They pride themselves on their patient care, and the international patient centre there is most helpful. I know of a few other australians that have had procedures done there and were most happy. Noticed that the hospital was full of either middle eastern or western people having surgery of all kinds done I imagine. It is also ISO 9001 acredited and the emails I received and phone calls I made when working out my appointments were professionally handled.

ho offense intended ,but there is plenty of bad reports on the net about various hospitals in los

lots of folks are doing the medical tourism thing these days, trying to get surgury on the cheap , but when things go wrong --what then?

i don,t want to get into an argument so im saying no more, and i stick to my origional statment

Sorry, Andy. I haven%26#39;t had any experience with Vejthani, Yanhee or Yoskam either. But I have had great experience at Bumrungrad and Lasik International. I also agree with the evaluation of their services mentioned by wraith......EXCELLENT SERVICE, CARE AND TREATMENT. I was actually amazed at the service I received and how promptly service and treatment was provided. I don%26#39;t know if you checked out the credentials of the doctors at Bumrungrad, but it is easy to do on their website. If you%26#39;re not familiar with the universities in Thailand, it%26#39;s good to check out that too so that you know the quality of education the doctor you choose has had. As Keriyada said, most of the specialists have had extensive training in the west in addition to their doctorate education and training in Thailand. As for the cost......I found it to be at least one third the cost of care and treatment in the US and, like anywhere, you get what you pay for. As for corruption......there%26#39;s plenty to be found in most countries, including the US, if you look deep enough. Some is just more transparent, but there always has been and probably always will be corruption by the greedy seeking money and power.

Good luck finding a doctor. Do some research until your satisfied with who you find. It%26#39;s important that you are comfortable with your choice, regardless of where you find it. Ron

An interesting link re Bumrungrad Hospital there from Newsweek, which totally backs up my experiences there last week. Once again, a world class facility with excellent staff. I couldn%26#39;t fault them.

Hi saddler, my friends visit Yanhee hospital. I dun find their prices very cheap but since its recommended by my close friend, i would say confidence level is higher. I saw Vejthani%26#39;s prices and agree that they are slightly cheaper.

Depending on what u are interested in doing, I think you should find out more about Yanhee... personally, i like their service and quality.
