ideas for a day with mr mor
Hello reeuk
Like most non native English speaking persons Mr. Mor will not be very helpfull in explaining to you the many options that you would have availiable and frankley I can not see how he would have the time to keep sending e-mails regarding suggested itineraries.
Try a bit more research on your own beginning with TedKarma%26#39;s website at www.phuketdelight.com and check out the section on recommended scenic drives and Mor has taken guests on all of them. You really only have to spend 5 minutes talking with him in person when he picks you up about what kind of day you have in mind and he will sort things out for you.
This is the beginning of the high season now and those of us who have to work in tourism for a living tend to be very short when answering e-mails with more then just a few basic questions. It%26#39;s simply a matter of do you make time to reply several times with loads of detailed info for one person or make the same amount of time to sort out 10 persons. Durring the high season we all work as many hours in the day as possible and even I have to triage my mails according to the months that persons will be visiting and tend to leave the 20 question mails for if and when I have time. You may also note that we have been a bit lax in replying to posts from members who do not take the time to search the forum for info before asking the same questions that get asked and answered over and over again.
Check out Ted%26#39;s site and rest assurred that with the info found there and just 5 minutes speaking with Mor in person you will have no problems arranging the kind of day you are looking forward to.

ideas for a day with mr mor
I agree with everything Richard has suggested.
For a tour of the island - do check out the suggested drives. Figure each of the drives, if taken slowly and stopping for photos and snacks - and making sure you have a relaxing time - would take about two hours each. Less when you lump several together.
Most of the suggested drives are on the north of the island - and you could, rather easily, do most of them in one day. If you want to do the ';Dreamland'; drive down south - it is hard to get it in as it is some distance from the others.
I always like to visit some of the recommended restaurants and plan the sight-seeing with good food in mind (that%26#39;s why I am a bit chubby!). If you do go up north - the North-East and Trisara Drives will give you a great perspective on the island - with both sea and bay views - and get you up close to the Yacht Haven for a great meal overlooking the bay and marina - and good food!
That should get you started anyway!
HI Marie have you got your tickets yet got mine today. Been in touch with richard and mr mor just waiting for emqil back. dont think 2 weks will be enough to see everything that people post might have to come back next time for 3/4 weeks. work can wait. hope to see you soon on airport perhaps

We%26#39;ve been out with Mr Mor quite a bit and it%26#39;s a good idea to have a rough idea of where you want to go, but he can then work out the best itinerary to avoid backtracking. Phuket isn%26#39;t that big, so you can easily get up to the gorgeous beaches in the north, and the national park and gibbon rehab place and waterfalls, having had lunch at Tungka cafe in Phuket town maybe (if you%26#39;re foodies, you might want to visit Chinatown there). You can then stop off at a few temples on the way to the north of Phuket and have a drive through the rubber plantations before heading south again along the coast road, which offers some gorgeous views. You can then finish up for dinner at Rawai or the other local seafood place at Chalong.
I was quite amazed at how much he managed to show us in one day. He%26#39;s v accommodating and speaks really good English so I am sure you%26#39;ll be fine. Agree about endless emails - it%26#39;s probably best to try to do a bit of research yourself so you have some ideas already.
WoW! A jam-packed day! But, yes, I agree - Mr. Mor%26#39;s Toyota is very comfortable and he drives so nicely that a full day with him is not as tiring as it would be if you were finding your own way around.
Comfort!
We had a day with Mr Mor %26amp; it was one of the best days of the trip. I%26#39;ll give you a quick run down of what we did.
We were picked up at 10.30 from our hotel
First did the ';viewpoint'; tour of the south, which has some beautiful views!
We then went to Phuket town for a late lunch, food was fantastic. make sure you actually eat in the town itself, not on the hill.
We then were taken to Patong to buy DVDs at a very cheap price, Mr Mor bought some too.
Had a quick stop in at Tescos
After that we drove to the middle of the island %26amp; visited a temple. He showed us how to give offerings.
went to the Gibon Rehab centre %26amp; waterfall (not so good in dry season)
We then went to the weekend market in Phuket town, which is worth going to for the food, i really miss sugar cane juice squeezed in front of you.
Mr Mor was going to take us to Rawai but we said we would meet up with some friends after. We did go the next evening by ourselves %26amp; they do serve food other than seafood, not a huge choice though. If you like squid, have the battered one, it was the best ive ever tasted!
thanks al for the suggestions, its really helpfull.
i have only emailed mr mor to book and confirm the date and time.i mentioned in my e mail to mr mor that i wolud clarify my intended itinery before we leave the uk.I appreciate how busy he is and how valuable his time will be.Hence getting you folks on board!!
thanks again
Thank everyone. We have booked Mr Mor for January 21st (day before my birthday!) so this has given me a more firm idea of what we will do for the day. It seems that its the ';norm'; to finish the day with the dinner at Rawai beach. We are also fortunate to be going on a weekend so we can go to the night markets at Phuket Town. A little over 9 weeks for us now, can%26#39;t wait, I%26#39;m like a little kid at Christmas I%26#39;m so excited!
Can I find out what is the approximate cost of hiring Mr Mor for a day? How does costing work - does he keep a cab meter running or does he quote you for a day%26#39;s work, or is it dependent on your itinerary?
