What do i really need to pack

What do you think u need for 2 weeks out in phuket. Eg shorts, t shirts etc. Hubby said no need to take hi heels and kitchen sink. He carries suitcases and has a bad back so better not overdo it.

Thanks

Julie

What do i really need to pack

Hi Julie, You are so lucky.. wish it was me.. We were away in Thailand for 4 weeks %26amp; I only wore 3 pairs of 3/4 pants ,2 shorts %26amp; 2 boardshorts. Went thru the singlet tops two a day. Wore the same pair of flip flops every day %26amp; twice changed to dressy flip flop. Don%26#39;t forget the cosy %26amp; maybe a sarong. no need for beach towels as they will provide them where you are staying. You will need a hat %26amp; suncream. If you do get burnt the Nivea after sun lotion sold in 7 11 %26amp; everywhere is excellent . We took a travel iron %26amp; used it once in the 4 weeks . took my travel hairdryer which I used but me with curly hair %26amp; the humidity it was always up. Leave the sink at home %26amp; I hope you guys have the best time. CJ

What do i really need to pack

Julie,

I know exactly what you mean! I just did a %26#39;trial run%26#39; over the weekend of my packing! Uh-oh! I seriously hadnt packed EVERYTHING and I almost broke my back trying to get the backpack on my back!!!!! I seriously need to rethink this packing thing! My problem is I am going for 6 weeks and over Xmas, so I really cant decide what to take and what to leave at home...

To me I have the bare essentials but its like trying to pick up my house! A big dilemma!!!!!

with 3 kids I am also wondering how much I really need, plus I expect I could buy whatever I didn%26#39;t take anyway. What about washing, do you use a laundry service?

I%26#39;m also taking 3 kids at Xmas, on previous trips to Bali and Penang, weve taken enough for 3/4 days and take a load to the laundry every other day. Plus the kids buy boardies and t%26#39;s that they want to wear.

Your hotel will probally have iron, hair driers.

I prefer bringing my own beach towel as I like a larger one than hotel provides and sandles, shorts and a few tees (buy stuff when arrive if needed)

Hi Wells67, Laundry done by resort is expensive. There are a lot of laundry services around. Look for the signs they will also iron for you . CJ

Emjay it%26#39;s easy to wash tshirts and hang up to dry in your room and also count on picking up a few new ones cheap in Phuket. I like the local beer tees (chang and singha) ;).

Hi Cindy q, I use the signha singlets as nighties they are so comfortable. CJ

You really don%26#39;t need to bring anything because everything is about 1/3rd the cost of what you would pay back home. So get yourself a new wardrobe here and help the local people by buying here.

I always say to people to raid their kids/nephews/nieces toy cupboards and fill their cases with soft toys and games and when here take them to a Wat and the monks will give them to tsunami orphans and needy kids.

Whilst I realise that the real issue is the weight (and restrictions on)of your baggage I wanted to reassure concerning laundry services.Hotel prices are high-in some cases outrageous-but there are plenty of laundry establishments (in many cases on the stands selling drinks/fruit/clothing etc.) where the prices are low(e.g.about .70 AUD for a shirt) and the service generally reliable and

fast .

As someone on another forum pointed out: take twice the money and half the clothes!
