Hi Guys,
We have decided to book our trip ourselves... we have a quote for airfares Perth, Phuket, Phuket, Bangkok, Perth - for $789, which sounded fine, until the $289 taxes!!! Flying Thai.
Anyway, just wanted to know if that seems like a good price, or should we wait, we aren%26#39;t going until September.
Cheers

Hey
We thought about doing ourselves too but I emailed a few travel agents about whether they could beat the cheapest prices I found for flights, hotels etc.
We ended up getting a package leaving Perth to Phuket for 10 nights and then 2 nights in Bangkok and back to Perth for $1699 inclusive of all taxes and accommondation at Patong Merlin and Bel-Aire Princess in Bangkok. We thought this was an awesome price for high season.
The travel agent we ended up using was one we found thru the flight centre web enquiries section. I emailed her and said can you beat it, and after a few tries she got me the above package.

Hello Mumjo I am from Perth, Australind to be exact we booked through flight centre who claim they will better any genuine price, we booked Perth/Phuket - Bangkok/Perth for March it cost $840 pp that is flying Thai airlines. I really tossed up whether to wait longer but decided I needed fares before I could book hotels etc.
September is a fair way off but so was March when I started booking but its not long now, 108 sleeps!
Hi,
You could price flight to Singapore from Perth and then use one of the cheaper airlines from there. For instance we arrive Singapore hang around till about 8pm a few hours only, catch airasia to Bangkok stay a few days then Bangkok to Krabi (airasia) stay a couple then drive to Phuket have our holiday then fly from Phuket to Singapore with Jetstar asia all for $244 inc taxes. We used our frequent flyer points to Singapore. But try Jetstar asia all the way see what they come up with. I know they fly out of Darwin. I dont think Perth is lucky enough to have Jetstar here yet is it I dont know.
But sometimes package deals are best as you get really cheap hotels. Like the Merlin Beach for 9 nights in a Deluxe room with full buffet breaky only $495 each same price I think for 10 nights but a surcharge of $15 for Breaky. Stay 10 pay 5. Bangkok hotel we booked through ASIAROOMS as we get buffet breaky inc for an extra $2.80 in stead of paying $17 each from here.
Hope this helps have a great holiday
